Recycled crafts: cute gift carriers for boys and girls
We have been a little quiet over the summer, but we have done a lot of stuff some of which we have shared with you already and lots more is still to come in the coming weeks. Recently we have been invited to so many birthday parties that we got our creative side going and started to make our own gift carriers. I am aware you can buy the cutest wrapping paper and gift carriers on the High Street and on the web but I believe in recycling and making pretty things out of stuff we find in the house. That is exactly what we have done. We have a lot of paper shoppers stored away so we picked two colourful ones and decorated them with coloured paper cuttings. The girls theme is a pink paper bag on which we stuck a huge bumble bee made of yellow construction paper and a line of grass on both sides of the bag. The boys’ gift carrier is my favourite. We used a transport theme to decorate it on both sides; on one side we made a toy train and on the other a selection of cars, a bus, a plane and a hot air balloon.
They came out nicer than I expected so we will keep on decorating the bags in our collection for future birthday parties.
