Finding Nemo was Luca’s favourite animated movie when he was two, so the enthusiastic new parents that we were we decided to surprise him by building him a Nemo cot. My husband drew the plans; we bought the wood and gave it to a DIY shop to cut to size. Assembling the bed was rather easy and then the fun part, we painted it with water based paint and at the end it actually looked like the familiar clown fish that goes by the name of Nemo. We left it to dry a whole day and night and then finished it with lots of varnish. Luca used the bed for about two years and when he grew out of it we were left with a lovely bed that unfortunately had no place in our house anymore, but yet we couldn’t bring ourselves to give it away.
