I love Julia Donaldson’s books, the way they are written in rhyme make it very easy for children to follow and after a few times you read them together they start to learn the lines helping them to exercise their memory. I find these books are great to build confidence in children beginning to read on their own, because the rhymes make it easier to recognise the words. The stories are clever and entertaining and the illustrations by Axel Scheffler are fantastic.

We first discovered The Gruffalo when it was given to Luca as a present by his grandmother. It was such a success that we got all the other books as well. The Monkey Puzzle, Room on the Broom and a Squash and a Squeeze are particularly popular at bedtime.

A selection of activity books is also available and recently I found the Gruffalo website where you can buy the books online and do the online activities to get your children computer skills going.
