Dim Sum, old favourite Sunday lunch

I love London, whenever I go I do so much in such restricted amount of time that at the end of it I am shattered. Today we are back in Alghero and the weather couldn’t be better, a lovely warm spring day even if a touch on the windy side. We were pretty lucky during our stay in London, yesterday was the only cold and wet day. As usual I spent too much money, doing the little things we don’t get to do back in Sardinia.
My old time favourite is Dim Sum on Sunday. Living in Italy we get good quality ingredients and delicious Mediterranean food, but when it comes to worldwide cuisine Italians aren’t exactly adventurous. I acquired a taste for Indian, Thai and Chinese food when I lived in London, but I must say it took a while before I actually broke the ice and when I did there was not stopping me. Now the availability of such food is one of the things I missed the most about London. Our favourite place for Dim Sum is Harbour City, a traditional Chinese place in China Town, if traditional Dim Sum is what you are after then I recommend it. I have been going there for 15 years and I can’t fault it, the ingredients are always fresh, then again it couldn’t be otherwise with the turnover they have, especially on week-ends at lunchtime. Even Luca likes it there, Prawn Cheung Fung, Crab Meat in Yellow Bean Wafer and Steamed Crab and Coriander Dumplings are his favourite. I must confess we had Dim Sum twice this week-end on Saturday and Sunday, but on Sunday we tried a different place Ping Pong. The restaurant ambience and the menu are trendy and while the food is good is no match for the traditional Dim Sum served at Harbour City, which is very similar to the food I had in Honk Kong years ago.
