Barcelona with kids
We have just come back from a busy but good family holiday in Barcelona. Like all city breaks, on the last day you feel like you have done so much and are now ready to return home especially when one of the family members is only five and by the third day has had it with walking around and is ready to chill. By the fourth day you have had it with carrying him and are about to drop. It was our second visit to Barcelona so we were super organised to catch all the sites we missed the first time round. We even went all the way up to the Tibidabo, the highest point of the Collserola massif, and spent a whole afternoon in the amusement park; luckily for me the little one is 10 cm too short for roller coaster and other heights related rides because he doesn’t seem to be scared of heights like someone else in the family. Though he wasn’t too young for the panoramic wheel where I was dragged on by son and hubby and had the most uncomfortable 10 minutes in a long time, but the views over the city from up there were awesome. Getting to the park was an adventure in itself as we had to catch a ride on a spectacular old fashion tram, Tramvia Blau, and then on the funicular up to the top of the mountain. Once in the amusement park all the rides where included in the entrance fee and we had great fun on the water log ride and the Tibidabo Express. We even had a go at the Haunted Castle, a scary obstacle route, and on the Magic Journey cable car. The spectacular views over Barcelona alone were worth the effort to get up there.
