Christmas Giveaway: Gifts Carefully Handpicked

Submitted by on December 2, 2009 – 7:25 am11 Comments

christmas-gifts-selection-from-the-handpicked-collectionThe Handpicked Collection

has very generously offered a £20 voucher to spend on their site for a lucky winner. Let me tell you they have a great selection of gifts for kids and adults alike. Every item is carefully picked by the 20 panel’s members and is presented with a reason behind its selection, which I find a very nice personal touch. I love that they offer a lot of creative play toys as well as eco friendly options. I have put together a list of my personal picks for you to see, but feel free to browse the Christmas gifts by the Handpicked Collection for yourself and let me know your favourites.

I have tried to keep my selection as broad as possible, but my choices are bound to reflect the fact that I am the mum of a creative boy.

My first pick is the Things to Make Activity Kit, which is ideal for rainy days and for keeping the little ones entertained during the holidays.

Paint Your Own Wellies, Paint Your Own Umbrella and Paint Your Own Raincoat are all great individually or as a complete rain set. Kids will have fun decorating them first and playing in the rain after.

The Theatre-In-A-Box is my absolute favourite, an innovative reinvention of one of the best-loved Victorian toys of all time. It comes with play scripts, characters, scenery and backdrops to colour in and even theatre tickets.

The About Bugs Kit is perfect for boys who are fascinated by insects. They will enjoy tracking down and identifying over 100 bugs with this kit, which includes 24 identification cards, collection jar, cloth catching net, notepad and pencil.

The World Globe with Velcro Finger Puppets and Names is a great gift for young children who are starting to learn about different countries in a playful way.

The Funky Baking Set is just the thing for young girls who want to have fun baking with their mums; the retro look of this set is so cool that makes me want to bake too.

I also like the pocket kite, which makes great stocking filler; the toothbrush holder with the timer, which is a useful and fun gadget to help kids to brush their teeth for the right amount of time; and finally Grow My First Sunflower is a fantastic gift to introduce kids to gardening.

Tell me which one is your favourite gift and you will automatically enter the competition to win the voucher to spend at The Handpicked Collection. You have until the end of Friday 4/12 to enter. I will draw the name of a lucky winner on Saturday.

Please be aware that some items are currently out of stock, but will be back on in the next few days.

Oh MaxiMad would love the globe. MiniMad already knows which is Austrailia, as it is home of The Wiggles!!!

What a great site – love it!

Found so many things I adore – particularly love the pump-up torch or the partridge jewellery tree.

I have to say I love the globe as well, BG loves puppets.

Oh my, there are so many things that I would love from that site.

I particularly liked the Paint your own Russian Doll kit and the giant pick up sticks.

Liz – I agree with you, who cares about proportions when you have something so darling!
The Mad House – I don’t know what it is about Australia, my son also learnt that one first followed by Africa. I suppose they are both quite distinctive!
Janmary – definitely a lot of choice there, the pump up torch is great
Make do mum – I know, I’d be tempted too
New Mummy – The globe is a hot buy
Kelly – thanks for mentioning the paint your own Russian dolls kit, they are lovely!

I love the idea of the paint your own wellies but the boy would much prefer the baout bugs kit! Difference of opinion much?

  • OOh the paint-your-own wellies for definite. Kai has discovered puddle jumping in a BIG way and I\’d love to set the boy loose with some paints (at his Grandma\’s of course…)

Josie – I like your thinking…Grandma’s house is a great place for letting kids play with paint:)
