Cookbooks for children have found a complete new meaning with the Handstand Kids books. They are cookbooks with easy recipes for children between 3 and 12 years of age and so much more. The Handstand Kids’ motto “Travelling the world, one recipe at the time” says it all. The characters are an eclectic group of children who accompany you in all the books exploring not only the food, but also the culture and the language of the country in question. So far there is a Chinese Cookbook that comes in a Chinese takeaway box and child friendly chopsticks, an Italian Cookbook that comes with a chef’s hat and packaged in a pizza box, and a Mexican Cookbook packaged in a resealable tortilla bag with a child size oven glove. All recipes contained in the Handstand Kids cookbooks promote healthy eating and organic foods. All ingredients and cooking utensils are translated in the original language so kids can speak the language while they cook. These books are beautifully illustrated and succeeded in creating characters that children can relate to with different cultural backgrounds, food habits and requirements. Topics like diabetes, vegetarian food needs and charitable organizations supporting communities in need are highlighted.
