Photo Friday: Wimbledon Tennis Museum and Tour
My son is so much into tennis that as a special treat during our stay in London I took him for a tour around Wimbledon Tennis Club and Tennis Museum. The museum is in modern key with plenty of interactive activities such as choosing the right diet for a tennis champion and a reaction station that hooked Luca in seconds although we didn’t get top scores as he is still not tall enough to reach the buttons at the top and I was too slow getting to them. As well as a good display of tennis equipment used by recent champions, the museum pays tribute to the tennis champions from the past and is a good source of information on the history of the sport. The first photo is Luca running on Henman Hill outside number 1 Court.
The second photo is a piece of history; the broken strings on Pete Sampras’ racket were a classic. At the end of a match there was usually a line of rackets with broken strings. The third picture is a statue of Fred Perry outside Centre Court, the last English man to have won Wimbledon all those years ago.
The media likes to remind the British players of the void of trophies since then and by doing so they only increase the pressure.

What a nice way to bring your son’s interests into the trip
