Recycled crafts: make a party banner out of used wrapping paper

Submitted by on December 29, 2010 – 8:50 amOne Comment

This year the build up to Christmas was as exciting as always. So many creative ideas and work went into the lead up to one single day and when Christmas Day did come we tore it all away. All those lovely packets that had been so carefully wrapped with loving care and originality were gone within an hour on Christmas morning unveiling some very thoughtful presents. It is a good thing that we know just what to do with all that used wrapping paper and ribbon left lying on the floor around the Christmas tree. To start with we made a banner for our New Year’s Eve party.

We cut all the letters and numbers to spell HAPPY NEW YEAR and 2011 out of cardboard and covered them with the recycled Christmas paper on both sides. When all the letters were ready we attached small loops on the back to feed a piece of ribbon through to hold them together in a banner to hang at our New Year’s Eve party.
