Monday Crafts: cardboard farm animals

Submitted by on March 21, 2011 – 3:37 am2 Comments

Empty cereal boxes are great to get creative at so many levels. They can be used for storage, as desk organizers or simply to make things to play with. This weekend, we made some cute farm animals just with recycled cardboard from cereal boxes, a pair of scissors and some felt pens. We actually made these animals before out of construction card, but it is so much more rewarding to recycle and create at the same time rather than using new materials.

To make these standing animals, you need to:

1. Cut the cereal boxes into 4 rectangles (depending on the size of the box). One rectangle makes 1 animal.

2. Fold the rectangle in two so that the two shorter edges meet; then fold the bottom lines inwards.

3. Draw your animal on both sides of the paper and cut around the edges.

4. Colour your animal and stand it up.
