Monday crafts: lotus flower origami
Today I bring you another very simple spring craft that requires no glue or paint, but only paper. Yes, I am talking about origami and more specifically lotus flower origami.
To make these lotus flowers you need thin paper cut in squares and then you start folding.
1. Fold the paper to mark the diagonal lines, then open it again and fold each corner inwards so that the 4 corners meet in the middle.
2. Repeat this process three times.
3. Turn the folded piece of paper over and fold the 4 corners to meet in the middle only once.
4. Hold the 4 corners down with your thumb while you turn the folds at the back upwards one by one to make the petals; you have three layers of petals as you folded the corners three times.
We used all different types of paper, but the best is the thin wrapping paper shop use to wrap delicate items which is slightly thicker than tissue paper.
Happily shared with Kids Get Crafty.
Ooooh I do like Oragami and always intend to do more! These are very pretty! Love the different colours you used!
Also a great way to teach children to follow steps in a specific order!
Thanks for linking up to Kids Get Crafty!
