Autumn tree memo
I love autumn’s colours, but unfortunately we don’t get to see much of the wonderful shades of red and brown where we live. We are on the west coast of Sardinia and the weather is still so warm that we are still swimming in the sea at week-ends. The closest we get to a bit of autumnal nature are the pine cones we find in the pine woods, which are typical of the vegetation of this part of the island. Even though summer is still here, the fact that school started again on Monday got us in the mood for a little seasonal crafting so we made a memo tree with an autumn feel. We simply decorated an already cut bolser wood kit with orange tissue paper and glue, but if you wish to make it from scratch you can use some of the excess cardboard from packaging from the recycle pile. All you need to do is draw your tree on thick cardboard, cut out two identical tree shapes and make a vertical incision down the middle half way through. On one tree shape cut the middle line from the top to the middle of the trunk and on the other from the bottom up to the middle so that you can then slide one shape into the other; you will obtain a standing tree.
To finish our tree we attached a lot of tiny pegs all around with leaf and apple shapes attached to it. We also put extra pegs to attach notes, invites or photos to the tree.
I must try this! Thank you for sharing your idea.
