Easy Halloween crafts: how to turn a fish bowl into a jack-o’-lantern
Since our lovely goldfish left us, the bowl had been lying empty and sad so we turned it into a lantern.
The process is simple, just some traditional tissue paper and glue and a lot of fun sticking it to the bowl.
Before starting we marked the eyes, nose and mouths with a marker and then we glued layers of orange tissue paper on the bowl with the help of a paint brush. We left the area of the eyes, nose and mouth clear. We let it dry before applying a water based varnish to seal it.
We put some water into the bowl, enough for the floating candles to sit on.

That looks lovely! I really like the floating candles.
Oh no! Shame about your fishy.
But, on the plus side, his bowl looks great now!
Yes! We made these last year and set them about a month ago when DS started asking about it. He has a great memory…
Hey that’s a great use for that unused fish bowl just love it.
My Mother just bought the pumpkins for our two boys, apparently there was a rush last years and the shops ran out, so shes not leaving it to change this year.
This is a creative use for an old fish bowl. Thanks for the project ideas.
