From olive jar to soft top glass jar storage container
This year I would like to do more crafty projects that require sewing skills. Unfortunately I am not very good at it, so if you see things under a positive light like I do it can only mean there is a lot of room for improvement. I looked into my thread and needle box yesterday, which I occasionally use to attach the odd button, and I must admit it, looked rather basic. It’s obvious I need to improve my sewing kit. In the meanwhile I have collected all my threads, needles, pins and a few buttons into a glass jar, which I repurposed especially for this. It is a simple glass jar with a few sparkling hearts and dots all over and a padded fabric top. I used a glitter pen to decorate the jar, and then I attached a bundle of foam stuffing to the lid with a touch of hot glue and covered it with a piece of fabric. I pulled the fabric all around and secured it to the edge of the lid with a hot glue gun. So no more excuses, with the basics at hand perhaps I’ll be more inclined to try things out and put the fabric glue away.
Ah stick with the fabric glue (pun intended), I’m hopeless with all things sewing!
Looks, great, such a simple idea that I will have to try.
I love the design. So crafty.
