How to decorate Easter eggs with tissue paper
This year instead of decorating more eggs for Easter I will put out last year’s but I made a pretty new box to keep them on display. I decorated the box with tissue paper, decoupage paper and glue. For the eggs I used various techniques including decoupage with napkins and simple painting. My favourite and the most fun to do with kids is the marbled effect obtained with tissue paper of different colour. To make these eggs you need, cling film, kitchen paper, tissue paper of different colours (2 colours per egg), elastic bands and of course eggs.
- Blow out your eggs (there are various technique, just pick the one that is easy.
- Put a piece of cling film on the table and lay a wet paper towel on top of it. The towel should be wet enough but not dripping.
- Cut a few strips of tissue paper and wrap your empty egg alternating colours unevenly.
- Hold the tissue wrapping with an elastic band with a soft tension. If the elastic is too tight it might put too much pressure on the egg.
- Place your bundle on the wet tissue and wrap it with the wet towel first and then with the cling film to keep the moisture in.
- Leave over night and then unwrap to discover the colourful patterns you made.
