How to decorate a bottle with yarn and salt
Since we have moved to Spain I have been collecting bottles. Whenever we go out for a meal or even just a drink I come home with a new bottle. Soft drinks and water here normally come in glass bottles of various shapes that are just too pretty to leave behind so I just bring them home and decorate them. This particular one has been sitting on my crafts table for a couple of weeks and today I decided to turn it into a vase for the wire flower I made at the weekend. All I used is a long piece of natural string, salt and glue. First I painted the bottom half with glue, then I wrapped the string around it firmly making sure it would stick evenly to the glass without leaving any gaps between turns. I left it to dry for 15 minutes, then I painted the top half with glue and sprinkled salt over it. After a few minutes I shook the excess salt off the bottle and left it to completely dry for about half hour. I then decorated the top of the neck with a piece of wire and a three wooden beads.
Cute crafting!
thanks:)
