solar-system-in-my-room

My son is fascinated by the solar system and he already knows the names of the planets and their correct cosmic arrangement so I have had a good look around for a gift to encourage this passion of his and I was amazed with the great stuff is out there.  All 4 items I selected are from the Science Museum shop. The Solar System in My Room is a battery operated detailed mobile model of the solar system. It mounts on the ceiling easily and is set in motion by remote control, which is also a mini projector and a light pointer that sends comets and meteors across the sky. This is a true cosmic experience, which makes the perfect bedtime treat and it switches itself off after 15 minutes. It comes with a CD packed with useful information about the planets in our solar system.

The Moon in My Room is also a bedtime favourite that hangs on the wall and comes with an audio CD packed with exciting facts about the moon and its relationship with our planet. The detail model shines like a real moon and has 12 different lunar phases that can be set by remote control.  The moon is battery operated and has an auto shut-off setting.

The Giant Glow Star Pack sounds like a lot of fun. Over 600 glow-in-the-dark astronomical shapes containing a phosphorescent pigment, which is charged by light exposure of only one minute, will keep kids entertained for hours recreating the real constellations of the night sky and inventing new ones.  The pack includes self adhesive shapes and others to stick with putty and a detailed star map. The shapes will recharge over and over so kids will have fun making their own constellations time and time again.
