Monday Crafts: how to transform a beach bucket into a trick or treat container for Halloween
First we painted the bucket with two coats of orange paint and left it to dry. In the meanwhile we cut the shape of a bat and the letters that spell ‘boo’ with an exclamation mark, which we coloured with a black marker.
Once the paint was completely dry we attached the cuttings on the bucket with vinyl glue using a paint brush to apply some glue over the images to give a glossy finish. In the end we added a moon with yellow paint behind the bat: this step was a last minute decision otherwise I would have suggested for the moon to be painted beforehand, but it worked out well anyway.
To decorate the handle we cut lots of strips of black creased paper with points to give the idea of bat wings and tied them one by one around the handle until it was fully covered.

You did an AMAZING job on the transformation! And trick or treat at your house will def be fun!! (Unlike our house, where I have done NO halloween crafting yet – best catch up)

What a fabulous idea! I love it!
I love the bats covering the handle. This really made a special Halloween pail.
This is great – I especially love the handle. Thanks for sharing with us at the Play Academy. Cathy
