Learn through play: how to turn a box into a toy house
After so many recycled crafts, it was my son’s vision to start the process that turned the box in the picture into a pretty little house.
Firstly we shaped the roof and cut the shutters and the front door, then we covered the box’ shiny surface with paper tape to allow for the paint to attach properly.
Once the canvas was ready we moved on to painting the house and left it to dry before adding the finishing touches with markers. We drew the bricks on the façade with a fine pointed black marker and we marked the roof tiles and the wood lines of the front door with a brown pen.
Two hanging baskets by each side of the front door add a few extra details.
You can try to make your own toy house, it is very easy and most of all it is a great way to spend a rainy afternoon during the school holidays.
Happily shared with the Play Academy.
Ooo Maria – I think you’re going to have to make a whole village now! Thanks for sharing with the Play Academy – you know we’re big fans of uncycling.
Love this, what a fab idea. Thanks for sharing!
