I like Dr Seuss’ books and recently we have enjoyed the numerous iPhone apps that have been popping up on the App store, but when I saw those familiar illustrations on shoes I just couldn’t resist getting a pair so I had a look around to find where I could buy them. There are various stores that sell the Converse shoes with a variety of Dr Seuss illustrations, but even better you can design your own model on the Converse website. My favourite model is the high top Converse with the top folded down revealing more Dr Seuss. Converse lets you design your own shoes personalizing every little detail including the colour of the stitches, the laces, the lining, the racing stripe, the toe bump and the rubber sidewall and the heel stripe.

I had a go at creating a few models, which I have captured in photographs for the purpose of writing this post. The system used on the website to create your own shoe is very easy, in fact I left the website open while I stepped away from the computer briefly only to find that my son had taken over and had already worked out how to change the details by the time I got back. His shoe design was actually very nice so we decided to order it for him. He will feel super cool wearing his very own design this summer.
